Just joggin’ along the junction
Feet scorched, air punchin’
Jumped a jittery thug
Who just wanted a hug
I kindly rejected
He solemnly shrugged
That was quite a dysfunction

Yeah, I believe he was drunk (and had bad hygiene).
Fun to read. Very cool photo!
Much appreciated. Limericks are a laugh in the lobby.
although your lines (or couplets in a few cases here) are longer than the typical limerick, this still has the same feel and rhythm as a limerick, so I’d say that this works quite nicely!
Oh, well I read and reread the lines in my head to see how they flow and feel the rhythm and thought it sounded okay. This is only the second time I’ve written a limerick or attempted one so of course I might not follow the rules right away. It’s good that you still like it!
sometimes poetry is about BREAKING rules too! You broke the rules, but kept the feel.
right, it not exactly a restrictive science of rules, there’s room for creativity.
