What is your favorite go to beverage?  Water, coffee, tea, coke, soda (non-alcoholic)

Water or tea. I don’t like anything too acidic. Coffee is just bleh.

  • Can you change a car tire?

Never have so I wouldn’t know how, but it would be good to know how in case of an emergency on the side of the road.

  • Are you a listener or talker?

Definitely a listener though I can talk someone’s arm off in certain situations, usually when provoked

  • Would you rather have no internet or no cell phone?

I can go without a cellphone but being without the Internet would be difficult because of having no contact with the outside world and missing out on important events.

What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?

Cleaning the bathroom most definitely. Especially on a hot day. It’s not that hard to clean because it’s so small, but I would rather be doing something else. Like working on my computer! Blogging, watching videos, playing games, etc.

What was the last URL that you bookmarked?

This one’s easy. Looking under the Bookmarks slideout in the options menu of Google Chrome, I see that I bookmarked the page to edit my Instagram profile, because I hate having to actually go to my Instagram page and take the extra steps to edit.

Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?

Okay, this is some form of meditation. It’s kind of weird because I don’t usually do this…but, I’m listening closely and – I guess it’s my stomach? It’s feeling a bit full after I ate some sloppy joes.

Would you rather have a two-bedroom apartment in a big city of your choosing or a mansion in the country side in the state or country where you currently live?

A mansion in the countryside of Michigan. I prefer the quietness and the scenic view. Though I don’t know what I’d do with a huge mansion with 25 bathrooms and bedrooms. I don’t even know that many people.

  • Do you believe in extraterrestrials or life on other planets?
  • How many places have you lived? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.
  • If you were given $22 million tax free dollars (any currency), what is the first thing you would do?
  • The Never List: What are things you’ve never done? Or things you know you never will do?

Do you believe in extraterrestrials or life on other planets?

Why, yes, because Earth cannot possibly be the only place in the entire expanding universe that contains life. I’m still confident that there is microscopic life on Mars, if water has been proven to exist, with unicellular organisms living in the ice caps. There might be other universes out there as well that contain planets thriving with life. We have only scratched the surface on what lies outside of our little safe haven here. I’m certain that the lifeforms we may find will not be the typical grey or green alien men depicted in cartoons and science fiction films and shows, but something a little more realistic.

How many places have you lived? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.

Eight places, all in Michigan. From a small apartment as a baby to living in a mobile park home. There might just be a ninth home when I move to Lee’s Summit in Kansas sometime in the next year or so.

If you were given $22 million tax free dollars (any currency), what is the first thing you would do?

Buy my mom a new car and great big house. I’d of course get into a top notch university and earn another degree, and save some money for my future kids to get into a good college. Then most of that money would go into a savings fund and accumulate interest over time.

The Never List: What are things you’ve never done? Or things you know you never will do?

  1. Gone to a Super Bowl
  2. Been to New York City
  3. Been to a foreign country
  4. Counted to one hundred all in Spanish
  5. Written a book
  6. Gone skydiving
  7. Ridden in a plane
  8. Scubadived
  9. Met a famous actor or actress
  10. Walked through the Amazon rainforest
  11. Looked on the night sky through a powerful telescope
  12. Woken up the next morning with a huge hangover (I am a light drinker)

  • As a child, who was your favorite relative?
  • If you could be a tree or plant, what would you be?
  • What would be your preference, awake before dawn or awake before noon?
  • Would you like to sleep in a human size nest in a tree or be snuggled in a burrowed spot underground?

The Answers:

1.  My favorite relative was definitely my grandma Norma, who used to look after me all the nights while the girls were out at dance class. She had iced tea, beanie babies, and a big box of toys that I liked to get into. She died in 1999 before I barely got to know her though.

2.  I’d definitely be a tree, so I could see over everything and be the supplier of food for the humans and other animals. Even if they chopped me down, I’d still be reincarnated as paper and glue!

3.  I’m a night owl, so awake before dawn. I like to be alert of all things going on.

4.  My favorite way to sleep is being bundled up in a cozy space, tucked away in a corner, lights down low, so I’d definitely be burrowed in the ground like some hibernating animal. I’d be too out in the open and exposed in a human sized nest, which sounds really absurd.

Favorite thing to photograph? Write? Or Cook?

I usually like to write about key events in my life or memories that have been in the back of my mind for years and have been yearning to be developed beyond their abstract forms. Those memories that are mere fragments turn into full blown stories when words hit the screen.

Did you like swinging as a child? Do you still get excited when you see a swing?

I absolutely loved the swingset. It was the first thing I’d runswing.jpg to when it was time for recess. Swinging was a way for me to be beside myself, since I was usually very, very quiet and loved to think and ponder about many things. I used to be scared of going too high on the swings, by myself or someone pushing me, afraid of going over the top bar, but now that I’m older I guess everything is more in perspective. Whenever I see a swing on the playground, just sitting by itself, I get nostalgic feelings.

What has surprised you about blogging?

That there are so many talented and passionate bloggers out there and that blogging has actually led to bigger and better things for some people. That this is more than just a hobby for some has really surprised me. I mainly started this as an online journal for myself, but my ultimate goal was to turn it into a sort of creative space for ideas to form, which has so far been realized.

List at least five favorite desserts.

My list is fairly simple, nothing too fancy:

  • Cherry cheesecake
  • Tiramisu
  • Chocolate pudding
  • Banana creme pie
  • Rice pudding

Share Your World – 2015 Week #49

2016 is coming up in a hurry. Let us enjoy the last couple of weeks in this year that has seen many tragedies and many triumphs. Behold another  Share Your World.

What would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

A new professional quality camera because I’m tired of the one I have now. I would also like a new guitar – and the natural born skills to play it like a star!

What color would you like your bedroom to be?

All black with dark furniture all around. I would love a room that I can feel like getting lost in. The dark tones would go well with the lighting and would make sleeping that much easier.

Would you prefer snowy winters, or not, and why?

Yes, because that is what winter is all about. A winter without snow is kind of sad and disappointing. All the time I was growing up, there was at least a foot of snow by this time in December. Now, the snow is coming later and later each year and disappearing quicker than before. I like to walk outside and see the world blanketed in all white. It’s a really beautiful sight.

Would you rather go a week without bathing, but be able to change your clothes, or a week without a change of clothes, but be able to bathe?

Definitely the second option – I couldn’t stand not being able to bathe because I take a shower every day. I could definitely wear the same clothes as long as I didn’t sweat too much or get into a muddy accident.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week, my sister and her boyfriend came down from Wisconsin to spend the holiday season with us. I am looking forward to our “second” Christmas with more gifts, because we all just opened our presents today with the two having to go back in a couple days and not spending actual Christmas here.

Share Your World – 2015 Week #48

Every week, Cee Neuner puts out a set of questions for bloggers to answer. These are usually simple, fun, and made to get to know each other and to get the writing juices flowing within us.

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?

I’m definitely a hugger, but I have my limits on it. Hugging helps to relieve stress and induce good feelings inside. I feel I need one every once in a while just to rekindle the spirit within me and shake off the lonely feelings. The last real good hug I had was from my father, which is probably the best thing that could come between us and strengthen somewhat shaky and distant bonds. On the other hand, I need my space and respect other’s spaces as well. It would be creepy to just walk up to a random person on the street and offer them a warm embrace.

What is your favorite toppings on pizza?

Sausage, pineapple, pepperoni, olives, just to name the usual suspects…the list could go on though. If you want to know my least favorite toppings, it would have to be anchovies or sardines – I’m never had either of those on any “normal” pizza and I can guess that they have no rightful place in my land.

The absurd Frankenstein pizza below looks rather delicious:

If you were the original designer of one existing corporate logo, which one would you select?

The Nike swoosh is one of those logos that just speaks to you. And you can fit it on almost anything such as clothes, shoes, and backpacks and not forget what it means. I love its simplicity and enduring brand power. It’s also fun to draw on notebook covers. To be the designer of this is to have bragging rights to the God of all logos.

 Nike Swoosh

So strong and positive.

Complete this sentence:  Where I can seek my solace is…

my family, where else? They’re the only ones who can really feel my sadness and give me encouragement. They are my safety net to fall back on when it feels like I am hitting a wall and have no where to turn to.

I suppose I don’t have to answer the bonus question, because I really don’t have anything for it for this time. Well, I guess I’m looking forward to getting over this ear infection I have really soon am grateful that I have people who can drive me to the doctor to get it checked out.

Cheers!
