Sky High

The transformer of a power line

Touch your hands to the sky

Go forth and be the guy

Don’t let those limits be your friend

Crash through the barriers and try again

You’ve got the power, go and abuse it

Life has no regrets, might as well use it

Find your style, find your grace

Let the world see your warm embrace

, might as well dare

Throw caution to the wind like you just don’t care

Which Way Challenge: Exits/Entrances

I haven’t done a Cee’s Which Way challenge in a while, mainly because I’ve been trying to see how it fits in with my blog, which is constantly trying to find direction, that great beacon of light. While on my hiatus, I got some interesting pictures of “The Way” on my travels.

Cee’s Which Way Challenge: 2015 Week 35

Inspiration Walk

InspirationThe clouds are an inspiration, how my thoughts are unwound,

Traveling slowly, slowly, my gaze from the ground;

Recalling spring days, when I was a little one,

When the storms would pass over, the rain relinquishing to fun

I walked that long lonely highway, the cars passing me by,

Felt the air shatter with noise, a great hawk’s cry;

The sun on the horizon, golden yellow tart,

A beautiful blue canvas, white fluffy art

My vision was great, my mind was relaxed

Looking for my inspiration, dullness of my tracks;

Looking through the clouds, for thy shape that is vast,

Darkness of the trees, evening approaching fast

The long stretching wires, electrical eeriness

I’ve found my safe haven, there’s no need to fear this

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Inspiration.”

Through the clouds like a bird, what a sight I heard, looking down upon the earth

Taking the theme of the challenge this week literally was quite easy since I already had pictures of clouds in my vast depository. I actually used most of these for One Word Photo Challenge: Sapphire last year. But I was lucky enough for the clouds to be voluminous and fluffy to get these pictures for One Word Photo Challenge: Cloudy. The last picture had always reminded me of the opening scene of “The Simpsons” and I just decided to add the title font today (not quite the same though), and it’s quite a striking resemblance, as if the show creators were looking up at similar clouds for inspiration, or if I’m just imagining things.

Roadside Sky

As the car was speeding by on the highway, I took some pictures of this amazing night sky. The right side of the picture has motion blur from the car moving fast and incorporates the element of speed into this otherwise restful scene. This was featured in Solitude.

Silver Lake – Pinckney, Michigan

This would have been good for “Solitude” as well. There is something special about those two picnic tables touching and the tree to their left adds a nice simplistic touch. The single person swimming in the gigantic lake makes the environment look way superior in comparison.
mysterylakeSilver Lake again, or what I call “Mystery Lake” since there are rarely any people swimming in it and it looks so dazzling in the evening. I captured the rippling of the vast water that looks like a sheet of glass. Again, the three people near the shore makes the natural environment much bigger and humans smaller in relation.
0218 Rolling Clouds & Tromped SnowThis winter scene, taken in January, is probably one of the finest photos I have taken in some recent time. It didn’t start out in this breathtaking format though. I had to edit it in CorelDraw, adjusting the contrast to give it that “rich” look, and adding in a snowflake filter. It incorporates a disturbance to loneliness with the snow that has been tromped through by me.

This is solitude to me. There is nothing around in the dark field and the trees are still and barren. While riding along on the highway a few nights ago, I noticed how beautiful the sky looked and was glad I had my camera phone with me, snapping a number of pictures as the car rushed on by. After a series of blurry pictures of no particular value, I finally got this one that  captured this pink, purple, and blue canvas in fine detail. This picture seems so peaceful. There are no disturbances. As the cars on the highway rush by, people busy, busy with their lives, this field under a dreamy sky remains quiet and in solitude.

This is an even better example of solitude. The lone grave marking, a cross commemorating a war veteran of my town. The idea that no one else has been laid down to rest here is so poetic. The trees in the background against an all white sky paint an image of heaven for me. So tall and graceful. Solitude could not be described any better in my mind than having a cemetery all to oneself, undisturbed by other souls. There is always a cold, chilly feeling that goes through me whenever I walk by this. I can almost imagine the ghost of the war veteran rising up out of the grave, gliding over to the fence to speak to me, or just staring back at me from afar as I walk on by. The thought of walking into this field of peace and tranquility intrigues me. There are no sounds in this area except the soft whisper of the wind.
